Low Carb and Lovin It
"How to Turn Your Body Into a Flab Buring Machine..."
Low carb diets are terrific. If you will really get in and follow a low carb diet the pounds and
inches will really and truly begin to disappear.
The truth is that with just a little determination it is easy to lose the first five to twenty
pounds. After that Look Out!
After those first pounds come off you will hit a dieting plateau. It happens to everyone
with every diet. Your weight loss seems to his a brick wall. You just can't seem to move the point on your bathroom scale.
That is a very tough hurdle to over come and most dieters give up. But you can do it if
you will just make a few small changes in your life style.
For example:
Eat 5 or 6 small meals periodically throughout the day
Yes, you can lose fat on a reduced-calorie, three-meals-a-day program. That's the basis of
many diets.
But those plans will not turn your body into a fat-burning machine, especially when you need to
lose that last inch or two around your middle. To sensibly lose weight in a short period of time, eating smaller meals more often
throughout the day is a much more effective method.
Try spacing your meals every 2 1/2 to three hours. That will have the following affects on
your metabolism:
* You will have stable blood-sugar levels all day. On a three-meals-a-day program, you risk a
fluctuating blood-sugar level that will not be ideal for weight loss.
The multiple-meal idea gives you steady blood-sugar levels and increased insulin release.
Elevated insulin levels inhibit fat-burning and you don't lose weight.
With multiple small meals you control you appetite. You won't suddenly crave food and find
yourself overeating.
You will store nutrients with multiple meals, so you are less like to feel exhausted during the
day.
Did you know that it takes your body longer to break down fat than it does nutrients? When you
follow the five- or six-a-day meal plan, your body processes macronutrients more efficiently and fat has less time to stay in your
system. That means less of it is absorbed and stored, while the remainder is passed.
Your series of mini-meals can be quick and easy. A small meal can consist of four ounces of
water-packed white-meat tuna or chicken, a small baked potato and salad. These mini-meals can be consumed almost anywhere.
Just remember, you should eat whether you feel hungry or not. Hunger signals a deficit of
nutrients, and you always want to stay ahead of the curve.
Now consider Atkins diet phase 4...
